Patterns For Sale

I am currently waiting for my testers to finish testing this sideway cardigan. It is knitted on my SK280 with my own hand dyed single ply superwash merino Mulberry silk yarn in a muted colour of the rainbow:  This simple cardigan has two rows of hand manipulated eyelets.  The eyelets stitches are different for the first and second row created by short rowing. The wrong side is equally pretty enough to be worn as the public side so I have designed it without a button hole band. A long i-cord is knitted as the front closure.  If you find that you do not like the large neckline, simply knit an i-cord long enough to thread through the eyelets along the neckline and gather before tying. This is a super fast project that can be completed in less than 5 hours!

My apologies for not been blogging for a long long time. Hmm...almost 3 months ago! Life has been rather busy after setting up my etsy store. I have been knitting though and completed a few projects. Let me see....these three projects are knitted with my own hand painted yarns:

Travelling Woman using Pretty In Pink, a wool/nylon fingering weight yarn dyed using the layering method in the oven.

Raspberry Scarf, a 100% pure bamboo dk weight yarn.

Amaranth Darkside Cowl, 100% wool worsted weight yarn.

I just love to knit these little gifts for babies and children :

Burnt Orange Owlie, also using my own hand dyed yarn.

A cute lilac head band modified smaller from Ropes and Ladders for little Celestine.

Wurm, using two kinds of cotton yarn to create this effect for my nephew who just loves blue!

And finally, Sun and Sand using Malabrigo Silky Merino Yarn in Sand.  This is my own design and I am thinking of writing up this pattern for sale.  It is a top down short sleeve cardigan that has a front button.  What do you think of this idea?  Do you like it?

I am back!

You must be wondering why I have not blogged for so long. Well, to cut long story short, I was not feeling well for almost a month. I lost 80% hearing in my right ear somewhere in late January this year. You may think that loosing hearing on one side is not a big problem since I still have my left ear. It is not that simple because there was this very disturbing loud noise I hear on my right ear. So I actually can hardly hear. I couldn't eat or sleep and lost a lot of weight. Doctor couldn't explain the reason for the sudden loss of hearing. Life was totally upside down and I felt so helpless and lost. Didn't know how to live the rest of my life. I was hospitalised twice and I all I can do was to pray hard. One day, I heard my phone ringing so I automatically used my right ear to hear. I could hear my husband talking to me! My hearing is back, thank God!

My own design that I call Sonata after the name of yarn which is Elann's Sonata Pink Pearly. At first I thought that lace weight yarn would be perfect for the flounces, but I  found out that dk weight work as well too.Love how it turned out!:)


This is an earlier project that I designed myself too. Saw this beautiful cable stitch pattern from a stitch library and simply fell in love with it.  The name is of course none other than Cables, Cables, Cables which explains it all!  Yarn used is Rowan 4 ply soft in Bright Rose and buttons are made from key rings. 
This is a pretty and cute hat for Candy's niece called Lacy Girly.  Modified to add bow instead of ribbon which I feel is more practical for a new born baby.

And, my latest design is Autumn Leaves knitted from my spindle spun and hand dyed yarn.  This is a simple and easy knit that will bring out the beauty of hand dyed yarns.  I love the wavy effect of the scarf.  If you like it, these are the instructions:

Yarn weight : Fingering
Yardage : 245 - 248 metres
Gauge :  7 stitches and 8 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch
Needle : 3.5 mm

Cast on 28 stitches.
Knit 3 rows.
Row 1 : Sl 1, knit 1,* k2tog, yo*; repeat * * 3 more times, knit 8, repeat * *  4 times, knit 2.
Row 2 : Sl 1, knit 1, purl to the last two stitches, knit 2.
Rows 3 to 12, repeat rows 1 and 2.
Row 13 : Knit 10, *yo, skp*, repeat * * 3 more times, knit 10.
Row 14 : Sl 1, knit 1, purl to the last two stitches, knit 2.
Rows 15 to 24, repeat rows 13 and 14.

Repeat Rows 1 to 24 till end of scarf but when you come to the last row of scarf, do not repeat last row of pattern.
Knit 3 rows and bind off.

Wet block and gift it to someone you love! :)

Hooded Baby Sweater

My second post for today is a hooded baby sweater that I got from here. It is a simple but very cute baby sweater. The original pattern called for worsted weight yarn. Since I use sport weight acrylic yarn, I have changed the needle size to 5.00 mm and cast on 75 stitches instead of 48 stitches. I also knitted these Magic Slippers :

I just love knitting these tiny and cute projects.

Are these for my baby...you may ask!? Oh no...I am too old for that! It is for my friendly hair stylist, Candy. Her second baby girl is due for delivery anytime now! So excited for her! :)

Lavender Cardigan

My Lavender Cardigan is finally posted on Ravelry.com. This project was left in my cabinet for a long time due to other projects that need to be finished first. Can't even remember when I started this project. I intend to wear it for a wedding dinner. The yarn has a shimmering effect and I love the soft colour of Lavender. Hope that it will be appropriate for the occasion. Initially I thought the neckline will be perfect but it turn out to be too low. So I bought a lacy slip to go with it.
