Falling Leaves

This is a project designed by Lily Go. She was looking for testers so I eagerly offered to give it a try. I was given a month to complete after which she'll give me another free pattern of my choice. Falling Leaves is a raglan with boat neck and knitted in the round from top down. No seaming is necessary which is just what I am looking for. It have pretty detailed sleeves with buttons and a lacy bottom. It was such an enjoyable project to knit as I can try it on as many times as I want to get a perfect fit. Actually, this is the first time that I am knitting from top down. It was not difficult at all as I thought it would be. I am quite satisfied with the result except that I think it would be much better if the waist line is changed to an empire waist. I do not have a slim waist line like Lily:)

I used almost 7 skeins of Elann Pure Bamboo yarn for this project. The yarn calls for 3.75 mm needle but after casting on, I found that it was too big, so I changed to size 3.50 mm needle. The sleeves were supposed to be knitted in the round for the seed stitch. I knitted flat because the armhole was too small to knit in the round using my 40 cm circular needle. So now I have a different version of Falling Leaves. I was hunting high and low for the perfect buttons to go with this tunic. Pretty and unique buttons are difficult to find here, so I finally opt for these rose buttons.

Now I am looking forward to my next free pattern from Lily.
